Condensed Milk Plant

Condensed Milk Plant (Sweetened or Non Sweetened) Sweetened Condensed milk is basically concentrated milk with added sugars. The high sugar concentration in sweetened condensed milk destroys majority of micro - organism. It can be made either from whole milk or skim milk. Normally it contains 8% Fat, 45% Sugar, 20% SNF and 28% Moisture and is packed in tins or in barrels for industrial use.

Process Description:

The condensate stored in receiver is pumped to the oil water separation unit. The liquid enters the oil-water separator oil and water is separated. The hot water from the condenser is sent to the cooling tower where it is cooled. The total system is handled by means of two centrifugal fans. The system is controlled by locally mounted control panel with automation instruments and safety interlocks for safe running of system.

Thermal-Desorption-Unit

To manufacture sweetened condensed milk the pasteurized milk with added sugar is taken to the evaporator and concentrated to desired level of solid concentration. The product is then cooled in such a way that lactose forms very small crystals in the supersaturated solution. After cooling & crystallization the sweetened condensed milk is packed in pre-sterilized cans.
